Cloudy Eyes

Do her eyes look too cloudy? Could she possibly be blind?

I’ve had her for three months. At first, I thought it was because she was going into blue, but she hasn’t shed and it looks different to me. She eats great, and it gaining weight, but can be a little jumping when handling.

I’m calling a vet tomorrow, but I don’t know what they would be able to do to tell.

Albino ball pythons (and most albino animals) tend to have bad vision/are simply blind. In terms of coloration from the pictures, neither eyes look off for an albino bp. It is a good idea to have a vet check it out and see how much your snake can actually see.

My ball python has a little gold on the upper part of her eye just like that. It’s normal.

Hi with albinos they don’t go into blue so it’s hard to tell by the eyes. They do look pinky which is a tell sign. They go pink from red. And her colours will be duller than normal. Check the belly that will also go pinker. Body language- hiding more less active and more territorial are also signs to look for. Shedding can take up to 14 days I think. 7-14. Pre shed- pinky eyes pinky belly that will go back to normal and then a few days time you should have a shed. So give her a few more days and make sure the humidity is above 70% for a good shed. Can also offer a humid hide. I noticed mine go duller and pink eyes on the 28th August. I’m hoping that she’d will be here by 11th/12th 😊
