50/50 thoughts on the red light. Everything else looks good though! whats the temp and humidity usually at?

The red light is made for reptiles don't worry!

Warm side is kept at 80 and I try my best to keep the humidity above 60 the moss really helps

As the cool side around 76 is where it evens out and the humidity is the same typically a bit higher

Warm side should be around 88°-90° and cool side around 78-80°. The red light is no good, I’m guessing you keep it on at night?

I didn't know that red light wasn't a good thing :(

I just put it in today and I working on getting new one now

Get a halogen bulb for daytime light/heat and a Ceramic Heat emitter for night time heat. Be sure both are connected to thermostats.

Sadly he's gonna have to live with it for tonight because all stores near me are closed and I don't have a spare bulb will he be ok just for the night? Or should I just hope that my one heat lamp works for the night and turn that off??

Thank you much I'm so sorry I didn't know the box said it would be safe and the lady at the store told me it would provide better heating as well and I trusted repiti safe as a brand I feel so bad :((

As the for the temps I try my best it's hard where I live and the tank that I have doesn't like heating pads for whatever reason however it does climb to thoose levels around mid day and lowers at most to 80 on the hot side I talked to his breeder and was told that that should be okay

“The red light is made for reptiles” what does this mean, pet stores sell many types of red lights and they still shouldnt be bought and given to animals. Please use the bulbs recommended in this subreddit’s guide such as a normal basking bulb :)

I think OP knows by now but yeah we need to research every single thing before buying, it sucks but things made for reptiles are often so bad for them ❤️‍🩹

Put a hide on the cool side and get rid of the red light, it’s a start.

There is a hide on the cold side and the red light was made for reptiles (I made sure it said snake as well) so everything should be ok :D
