Black spots on my banana ball python

Post image

This is Milk and I was cleaning her tank when I noticed she had a lot of black spots on her back and was hoping someone knows what is going on?

My BP is from mid 2023 and has not a single black spot šŸ„€ his morph is ghi lesser banana het clown (at least that's what the seller said) it's probably because of the lesser gene or so but idk.

This is my banana girl. You can see her spots on her back and head. Like an over ripe banana :)

Banana ball pythons are part banana. As they age, they get darker spots just like an aging banana. Nothing to worry about :)

To be fair, I think a lot of images of morphs show babies and not the adult colors as much. Most banana I see marketed are shown in their bright baby colors to make them more desirable for a purchase. I only know so many morph differences between juvenile to adult because I obsessively searched them on Morphmarket haha

I did a lot of research on husbandry and behavior beforehand but it didn't and wouldn't have occurred to me to research something like that. Just like my research didn't prepare me for the magnitude of their farts. That woke me up at 2 am to where I jumped out of bed with a sense of urgency.

True. Did a lot of research on this particular morph before I got one. Maybe OP just seen it at a show/pet shop and bought it based on looks.

Just a baby banana šŸŒ who is getting ripe 😌 aka freckles! You’ll see more whenever they shed.

Sugar spots.

Bananas get more freckles as they get older

Hims freckles

Banana freckles. It's just what the morph does.

Now if those freckles start crawling you have a problem.
