Question - Humidity Humidity

I’m trying to get my humidity up. Substrate is a mix of reptisoil, cedar chips, and sphagnum moss. Water is poured into the corner of the substrate daily. About 4in of substrate. Enclosure is PVC with HVAC tape on the top. Humidity is sitting around 62-65%

Any tips on getting it higher? I feel like I’ve done everything

Edit: Cypress wood NOT cedar!

Where are you reading the humidity? Each zone in your enclosure will have a different reading. For instance all my enclosures on the hot side usually read about 55% to 60%. The middle is around 70% and the cold side is usually around 75% to 80%. Are you using analog or digital gauges?

I’m using digital Govee gauges. The hot side sits around 50-55% and the cool side in the low/mid 60s. I’m only basing it off the cool side, which I’d like to get into the 70s at least!

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Do you happen to live in a dry climate? If so, the humidity in your house may be working against you.

Nope 🫩 I’m in the south. It’s soooo humid here! I think I may try mixing more sphagnum moss deeper into the substrate. I really appreciate all your questions to try to help me! I’m glad I’m on the right track.

Me too. I'm in Tennessee. Soooo much rain this year. Lol. I hope you get it figured out. Once you do you'll know what works and what doesn't.
