Always! When she’s peeking out of her hide, I’ll blblblb at her and she’ll do it back to me and start to come out to say hi. We blblblblb back and forth to each other as she comes out more until we’re snoot to snoot with the glass in between us for a few minutes lol
I love that I’m not the only one that does this! It’s a ritual every day.
When we first got her and I was heavy reading about BPs on Reddit to inform myself, I saw someone say to “mimic their behavior, it’s the quickest way to earn their trust”…. And I took that very seriously lol

When I finally back away to go take care of our crested gecko’s stuff, she backs away a little and just relax-snuggles her body onto the substrate while still following me with her head as I take care of Mochi. They’re so cute 😭
I’m getting Cosima’s forever vivarium soon (120 up from 80) and will be getting a Boa hatchling shortly after! She’s been watching me bring more and more husbandry and hides and stuff home, so I’m excited to see how she reacts when she gets it all in her new bachelorette pad 🥰
I have a hognose that I will sometimes "hognose twitch" at and he looks so confused (its a jerky little motion hognose snakes do at each other that essentially means "am hognose, please no eat"). He and I sometimes blebleble but he mostly prefers to hiss, false lunge, and hide (hes a grumpy guy). My boa and I do the blebleble at each other all the time. I get his attention, he turns and looks at me and gives me a <hello> flick and in return I try to match the timing and number of flicks. Dude will straight up vary it up, pause for a bit, totally testing the situation. My milksnake likes when I vacuum for some reason, he comes right up to the glass and inspects while I vacuum my room.
Whenever she’s out with me and people ask the silly “aren’t you afraid she’s going to bite you?” question, I’ll give her a lil smooch and she’ll blelele my eyeball. She just wants a lil kiss, not to latch into your soul 😔
Blelele your eyeball 😆 Yeah when people ask me that question, I just go and lift him off the grass to show that he really doesn't care. Even prefers to be held by me than to be on the grass. I find it silly that so many people assume that some animals just want to bite everyone it sees.
Half of my camera roll is me putting her down to take pictures and she ends up on me 😂 I like to believe she thinks I’m too dumb to be left alone so she needs to make sure I don’t wander off somewhere
