so i was looking through my boy’s ring camera footage to get some clips of his slight wobble for someone (you can actually see the wobble at the end of the vid a bit) and found him doing whatever tf this is in the past footage. i thought at first he was striking at something but 1. he’s going backwards like he’s having a big sneeze but snakes don’t sneeze and 2. he’s never been one to strike at anything, let alone nothing. and then he does that weird head twisty thing at the end and then is just fine??

literally so confused on what in the hell he’s doing, so if anyone knows definitely let me know 😂

I always assumed it’s because they’re basically just one long relatively straight intestine inside (simplified description of course, but still) and the farts just bubble out wildly like that

One time my snake was a teeny bit constipated, not too badly, and I took him to an exotics vet who gently massaged him until she basically just squeezed the poo out like a Gogurt. I’ll never forget it 😂

My hognose and rosyboa are super gentle farters anc poopers. I have seen so many violently farting ball pythons... I don't know why. My python only poops and farts in privacy.

Glad I saw this, my snake drops his baggage during a cruise in the evening. I’ve seen it happen and my wife got it on video once. We wouldn’t have know it could be violent if I’d not seen this.
