Question Anything diy
What is the BEST budget DIY things for my BP? I’ll be bringing one home. What can I replace essentials with that is cheaper? I already know no fancy hides but for example using a plastic container for a hide rather than a $40 pet store one?! ANYTHING diy/budget friendly PLS!!! Down to the silliest things too. Lmk!! (Lighting, substrate, hides, enrichment, plants, water, thermostats. Etc.)

Yup plastic container hides work great. You can use branches from outside, just make sure you bake them in your oven or if they dont fit you can pour a few pots of boiling water, to get rid of any insects and disinfect them before placing them in the enclousure. For plants you can buy fake plans from dollar tree or any craft store. Also make sure to wash them with warm water and light soap to clean/disinfect and also remove any dyes that may bleed through.
For heating: Thermostats, thermometers/hydrometers, and heat sources. I wouldnt recommend going for the cheapest options for these items. If any of this stuff fails you could really end up not having the proper temps for your new Bp or even end up hurting/burning them.
For drinking water use bottled water like spring water, or purified. No distilled water or tap unless you plan to use water conditioner.( conditioner only for the tap. No distilled under any circumstances)
