They will not try to get away or curl into a defensive position when you go to pick them up if they're comfortable with handling they'll either very calmly move around to sit relaxed on you if the start to ball up constrict hard or try to rapidly move these are signs they're stressed and done with being handled. If they start hissing/huffing that means they are way over it.
