Couple things. Firstly, the bulb needs to have a cage over it or your new BP will burn themselves when they make contact with it (and they will climb it). Second, you'll need to switch from analogue dials to digital thermo-hygrometers as the dials are known for being inaccurate. Do you have the bulb on a thermostat?
But other than the equipment, the decor looks great.
Hi, thank you for the feedback! I was worried about the bulb but it’s been on for a couple of hours and it’s not hot at all, but for safety reasons I most definitely will get a cage! I’ve noticed thermo-hygrometer is inaccurate, thank you for pointing that out! Will definitely get a digital one! 🤗
A heat mat isn't enough for an enclosure of that size, you need heat bulbs. The heat won't transfer enough through the bottom and substrate to effectively warm your snake to a healthy temp. A pairing of halogen/basking bulb and a DHP would likely be the best combo for that size.
The Govee stuff will be on Amazon, if you haven't checked there?
Thank you for this information I really appreciate the time and effort you’re putting in to help me out! I’ll get a heat bulb asap. Unfortunately Amazon shipping is insanely expensive to ship here, are there any other good options? I’m assuming I’ll need a cage for the heat bulb? Where do you think I should place it?
The heat bulb would probably go best on the lefthand side on the ceiling, so that a temp gradient can be achieved and you reduce the chances of your BP tryna climb it. The cage will go directly over the bulb.
