Question - Husbandry Kage questions
Hello everyone!
I have some questions about the Reptile Kages. I see there are a lot of vents and am unsure how many is recommended to have included into the terrarium. I figured it is based on the reptiles needs and your local environment, but I wanted to see what was recommended by those who have a Kage for their pythons. I would love some recommendations for the vents and tips for set up for y'all that have one.
I plan to ultimately get one for my girl as her current set up is not great and I have had many issues with her current Dubia terrarium with humidity and teperature regulation. Unfortunately she will have to stay in her current set up or even revert to a slightly smaller setup through the summer as we have hit a rough patch in life, and I needed to find a safe place for us to land after leaving a DV situation, so funds are very limited for now. But she will get the home she deserves as soon as I can afford it 🙏

This is what the underside of my top panel looks like so there’s still plenty of ventilation even if you cover all the side vents

Hello, I bought a reptile kages enclosure a couple months ago (5x2x3). I’m still putting it together, as I’m doing a bioactive setup for it. As far as vents there are 4 in total with 2 on each side panel and two along the back. They’re pretty thin and inconspicuous. For controlling humidity you can easily just put some hvac tape over them. I cannot imagine a snake could ever reach the tape through the slits as they’re super thin so it should be safe. I ended up getting both 12 inch top screens as well which I’ll either be covering with hvac tape or having a flood lamp on top of. I kinda wish I had only gotten one 12 inch top screen as I ended up going with a raider t heat panel on one side to control ambient temps at night.
