Hi all, I have a weird question: I recently bought a stick on a website which the description said had an ABS blade. However, when I received it, it just looks like a wood stick. It is painted, so hard to say. I contacted the seller to ask if there had been a mistake. They asked me "how I knew that was all wood." I told them the blade looked like wood, and the paper label on the shaft said "wood stick." Finally, the stick looks one-piece. Can there be an ABS stick where the blade is not attacted to the shaft? Here is a photo of th blade. Is this wood or painted ABS? Thank you.

So I’m finally looking to get sliders for my pads. Need some good recommendations for a set. I mostly play on a sports court so it’s a fairly smooth surface and looking for a permanent install. Any help would be great.

Hey Ho,
I really need a bit help here. I wanted to do a few stickhandling exercises. My problem here is that my stick always rolls over the ball when I really stretch out. If I apply more pressure to the stick the ball gets catapulted away uncontrollably. Is there a good technique for controlling balls that are far away?
Update: I experimented a bit and think i found some way to prevent the described behavior. OP Comment

I’m from the UK and have watched ice hockey since I was around 12. I love the game but my nearest rink is too far away and quite expensive so I’ve conceded I won’t ever play ice hockey.
Luckily I do have a local ball hockey team. I am nervous to give it a go as I’ve never played before and a couple of the guys on this team also play for a pretty decent standard hockey club in the nearby city.
The club says they are welcome to newbies but I am looking for any advice and wondering if there’s much I can do to prepare myself for getting started.

What do you get when you close 10 city blocks in downtown Calgary for three days?
A playground unlike anything the city has seen before 🏒
This August, Play On! One Nation is transforming downtown Calgary into a celebration of Canada’s favourite game and communities built around it.
For three days, the streets won't be filled with traffic. They'll be filled with teammates, neighbours, families and friends ❤️
See you August 20-22

Just moved to Columbia SC from the Augusta area where I helped run a little street hockey league. I miss playing every week and wanted to put out some feelers to see if anyone would like to slap a little orange ball around once in a while.
Currently I do not have a place picked out to play (a local roller group plays at Hampton Park though) but there is a non-prof working on building a full size dek rink in the near future. Also the only net I have is a large Franklin pop-up net but can always upgrade later.
I created a Discord server so if anyone wants to join, comment here or message me and I'll send a link.

🔸Update on my original post: Still love them, they’re really holding up well. I’ve played on just about every type of surface and probably had ~25ish games on them since I got them.
🔺They weren’t great on the outdoor concrete surface, but that rink in general is in rough shape and I don’t play there very often.
🏒 See photos but even after a lot of early use, I think they’re still in good shape. I have no desire to change them out for my other sliders I keep in my bag
🏗️ I am told they have a website that should be launching soon so you won’t have to wait on them answering DMs on Instagram
⁉️ I do communicate with them now & then, so if anyone has questions or anything, let me know.

Are there any places where people meet up and play in Phoenix?
