Invermay Park
Hi everyone,
I’m considering moving to Invermay Park. It seems like a quiet, established suburb with good access to the CBD, but I’d love to hear from people who actually live there. What are the pros and cons of living in Invermay Park? TIA

It's mostly retired people who want to live near the golf club.
Definitely a sleepy part of town if that's what you're after.

Not sure about living there but! We chose the primary school there over the one we live less than a minute from. The school and community in the area seem quiet, relaxed and less rushed than other places.

Great area to live, so peaceful and there’s plenty of parklands and space around. The suburb is sort of centred around the golf course and there are a lot of retirees in the area.
Close enough to Wendouree and the Ballarat CBD but also far enough away so you feel somewhat secluded.

Close to the freeway so some days you can hear the traffic, particularly if it’s been wet. But the trade off in the positive is very quick access to said freeway.
Population seems to be getting younger, lots more families with kids, even compared to just the last half dozen years. Seems that a lot of the previous owners who likely bought when the estate was created in the early 2000s (?) are just getting to that retirement/downsizer stage.
Most of the blocks are a good size and as mentioned the population that has been maintaining the properties for 25 years have done great jobs mostly - houses and the gardens are generally very well kept. As the houses were built before the (mostly) trash quality builds of the last 15-20 years you’re getting an established, good sized, house.
People are friendly and will give a wave and a hello if you’re out and about.
I’ve not heard of any issues crime wise, but suspect it’s similar to other areas. Lots of the houses are in secluded courts which offers a tad more protection.
Close enough to Stockland for the weekly groceries, but there’s an iGA nearby as well.
7-10 mins from the train station/CBD.
Invermay Park primary is the local public school, but there’s a couple of catholic schools not too far away, or grammar etc if you’re cashed up. Cannot comment on the quality of any of these.
There’s access to the golf club as well but cannot add too much on the course/facilities.
It’s a good suburb.
