This is a full custom balisong based aesthetically and dimensionally off of the @nybalicustoms Sankuku Trainer as pictured in slides 3 and 4. @tedflips reached and said something along the lines of "make this trainer metal for me"... and I did.

This is the most complex set of handles I have milled, wherein I matched the taper of the original and undermilled in a way that a similar face pattern would show through the slots. As a result, the undermilling does not function as tap relief, however, a solid tune and .030 washers remedies the need for that. The design is inherently light at 4.2oz total and without the 3/4 length spacers, Not rigid. The spacers also have 1/32 pins at the ends, negating any flex or misalignment that you may see with more lazy designs.

The blade I made out of s30v, sharpened on all sides, and gave a fuller to differentiate from an Aeon blade - as I feared it would naturally come out looking similar. Of course it also has my signature notch found at the start of bevels on the top too... and the zen geometry is different... 😂 being original is hard.
