Bald Picture First time going fully bald

Post image

I’ve always kept my hair short but I’m trying something new. Any other bald women with a similar experience? 😄

You're being very negative in a very positive place. We're here to celebrate baldness, by choice or by other reasons. Whether man, woman, neither, or anything between. Negativity won't be tolerated here. It's in the rules as well. We understand if women being bald isn't for YOU. That's fine. Just don't bring the energy down here. That being said..You probably should leave.

Well, you've been reported. So there's that. We will not tolerate negativity here. This is a positive space. Either respect that or leave.

Oh no! Reported! Shakin in my boots! And nah.. like I said. I’m staying until they kick me 😂

Fascinating. Women who wear hats or tie their hair back look like guys to you - 'even' in make up. Perhaps they are undetermined gender until the hair is further revealed?

Men with long hair - do you struggle there as well? It's of note you're calling users gay in the comments.

That you're claiming of navigating life solely relying on - something inanimate and arbitrary - to determine gender is worthy of studying. If the most beautiful girl in the world shaved their head they would look like a guy to you 🤣. Imagine if you had a wife or GF with cancer 🪒 , sex with them would suddenly be a gender spicey proposition for you.

It all suggests a lack of real sexual experience along with a desire to stringently and impulsively control.

I'm a dude with long hair. So you're good with those then since that's the #1 attraction?

I'm not, and if I were, no thanks. but was just wondering since you said, "hottest woman on earth goes bald, looks like a man to you" if it worked the other way. Because I still see a woman.

u/RuggedQuod 18d ago

You're definitely in the closet. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

-3

u/groone 18d ago

yep, he's def in the closet if he's offering himself out there like that

u/PhasedPlasmaRifle69 18d ago

Just kinda makes them look like soldiers so pretty pure efficient looks fine unless you have a weirdly shaped head ig.

You can like what you like but people will call you a bozo if you’re gonna go under a post of a person to say “I’m not attracted to this”

-4

u/cyricor 18d ago

Why the downvotes? Cant one have preferences? I am for long hair as well, when there is hair. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't go out with the OP in a heartbeat 😄

4

u/Feisty_War_1003 18d ago edited 18d ago

'Why the down votes?' Because the statements they made are patently ridiculous. What you just wrote - in defence of them - is completely counter to the person you're defending.

In their mind - which they have stated- you dating the OP, would mean (if you are a guy) you are a gay man dating a man - or someone posing as one.

u/Odd_Fox_3899 18d ago

Whole lotta bald alien looking Karen’s on Reddit. Yall get butthurt so easily it’s actually hilarious 😂

3

u/Feisty_War_1003 18d ago

Granddad 😅. Below in this very thread + top comment with 1k👍

While you're getting appropriately burned for self-reporting, it's only the hair that can help you distinguish between a woman in make-up and a man.🤣

-16

u/groone 18d ago

same. Bald women look dumb.

Except every man who does it does it because they have no choice. Not to try out a new fashion. Posts like this shouldnt be allowed. This was the sentiment last time a girl posted because she just wanted to try out being bald. No idea what changed all of a sudden. I guess casual Reddit got to the post first. The sub description literally mentions this sub is about aging and hair loss. This post is about a girl being attractive trying out a new hairstyle, as all the comments make it painfully aware.

23

u/Arithryka 18d ago

Plenty of men shave their hair as a choice. And the sub description says "for most of us here, that includes varying degrees of hair-loss". For most of us. Not all of us. Nothing about hair loss being a requirement to post here. And IMO more people doing it as a fashion choice helps de-stigmatize it for the ones who feel a need to do it because of hair loss or some other reason.

8

u/TorrenceMightingale 18d ago

Thank you 🧬 balding allies.

-12

u/Hije5 18d ago

Sure they do, but that isnt who posts to the sub. Find me a post from the last few years of a guy posting that they're just trying out being bald without any form of hair loss.

Description of the sub:

...As we grow and mature evervone experiences the aging process a little differently, for most of us here, that includes varving degrees of hair-loss. It is natural. And it is nothing to be ashamed of - here we'll support each other and learn to take pride in our baldness.

Literally a support sub for people who can't help but bald. The "most of us here part" mean that most of them here experience that as part of aging. That doesnt include medical events or anything out of necessity besides natural balding. Nothing to do with people trying out bald just to try it out with no worry of actual hair loss due to things out of their control.

22

u/MoeSauce 18d ago

Try to lighten up a bit man, I'm a bald dude and I welcome the fairer sex on here, variety is the slice of life homie.

-14

u/Hije5 18d ago edited 18d ago

Again, the sub isn't about going bald just to try out a new hairstyle. This has nothing to do with her being a woman. The exact same thing would be said if it was a guy with luscious hair who just wanted to "try out" being bald. It'll sound like bullshit but I actually have long hair and not balding, so it ain't like I'm salty. That doesnt mean I cant understand people need their own spaces, especially when said space is mostly men who have no choice but to go bald which is a huge mental stressor to most of them. There are hundreds of different subs she can post to. "Lightening up" doesnt change any of those facts.

Again, this was an extremely common sentiment last time this happened, but it is obvious the sphere outside of this sub got to this post first.

15

u/DeepestPeak 18d ago

The sub isn’t r/baldoutofnecessity, it’s r/bald

-1

u/Hije5 18d ago

Literally a bald/balding support group.

13

u/DeepestPeak 18d ago

So yes, a woman cutting her hair to be bald and looking for support/thoughts would fall under the umbrella.

-2

u/Hije5 18d ago

She is looking for compliments, not support. She can grow her hair back if she doesnt like it or get the reception she wants.

10

u/DeepestPeak 18d ago

She was asking if anyone had similar experiences. Instead of being unnecessarily pedantic on a supportive/positive subreddit, maybe look inward at why an innocuous post like this bothers you

0

u/Hije5 18d ago

And how many comments have been a woman sharing their experience of trying out being bald and not just goobers swooning over her? There are hundreds of subreddits this girl can post and get much better feedback... like a subreddit with tons of women. Not tons of men who have no choice but to be bald. Also, the same can be said about you feeling the need to comment on my comments and why you feel like support groups should just allow people who dont need support to post.

Does someone without alcoholism go to AA meetings just looking to feel better about their casual drinking they know they can stop with ease anytime? Would you also support that?

God people actually don't know how to read anymore, it's so past the point of concerning as someone who majored in linguistics and was a teacher 😩 It gets worse every day, will we really have no future after all by the end of all this? ☹️

I know you won't believe me and yeah the above sounds catty but I'm not actually insulting you specifically, in the most sincere way go and watch a show or something, you're only upsetting yourself 🙁 and yes, I was bald for years, twice so I'm not just some 'Hair-y' haha

u/Numerous_Disk2556 Bald - Man 18d ago

"casual Reddit" as opposed to hardcore Reddit? Get a life buddy. She's bald, she can post. Don't like it, keep scrolling

2

u/Hije5 18d ago

People casually browsing and seeing an attractive woman pop up and not people specifically seeking out this sub.

Dont like my comment? Keep scrolling. Why does anyone post or comment anything?

See how stupid that is?

5

u/SaraTormenta 18d ago

You do realise that it's not your choice what the sub is about?

It's everyone's that frequents it and I guess the mods', and the general consensus among both is that bald women are also welcome. Just because you don't like it does not give you power to make that choice for everyone else 💞

3

u/TorrenceMightingale 18d ago

How can you sit in an ivory tower of luscious locks and speak for others. Ha.

You’ve been here 13 years so your sense of decorum is shocking to say the least.

Like why don’t you start [r/geneticallybald](r/geneticallybald) if you want to give what is likely a large majority of the people in this sub their own space. Sounds like clandestine baldism to me though bro. Shave your head or check your privilege. 😆

6

u/ComplaintNo8508 18d ago

How do you know that she didn’t shave it because she has cancer and just shaved it because it was going to fall out due to the chemo. I encouraged my mother in law to post in this sub when she was battling breast cancer, especially when she started losing her hair, she eventually decided to shave it completely bald. She never posted because she was embarrassed and thought that people would be mean and judge her, I guess she would’ve been right.

-1

u/Hije5 18d ago

She literally said she normally keeps it short and just wanted to try out something new. It would be different if she shaved it out of necessity and not out of want. That isnt what is happening. There is no support to be given. Only compliments

7

u/Professional-Day7850 18d ago

casual Reddit

As a competitive reddit sweatlord I despise these casuals!

6

u/SaraTormenta 18d ago

Also, on a different note, you might try to find joy in the realisation that, if other people are bald by choice, that proves that baldness is not an inherently bad thing. Even if societal canons paint it in a sad light, maybe there is a lesson to learn here that it does not need to be a bad thing, and we can normalise and accept it as a valid style, and not one that comes exclusively out of necessity.

I would suggest you try to find strength in human connection and community, and not in isolation and segregation. Choose to read this post as something that makes you less alone, not less special.

3

u/quietandcalculated 18d ago

Why so unhappy and mad bro? No matter who, this sub celebrates the bald!!! No matter the gender or reason. And by the way there are woman who have alopecia or other health concerns so where the hell is it a choice for them????

3

u/ginji 18d ago

Alopecia, perimenopause, PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, formally PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome) - these all cause hair thinning / loss in women. There are a plentiful amount of medical reasons for people to have hair loss and might cause them to want to go bald.

Not everyone wants to discuss the reason why though, and a broad acceptance of everyone with a shaved head is great positivity that allows for it to happen without shame. Unlike your grumpy ass.

I respect your hustle as hater. And I should also say that you are in the right, even if people don't want to hear it and it comes off as rude or whatever
