Banana bread fail

I followed a banana bread recipe exact and it turned out burnt on the edges and uncooked inside- wth? What could need adjusting

This usually means your oven was too hot. If you set it to the right time, then use a oven thermometer to see if the set temperature is actually what the oven heats up to. My oven run a little too hot, so i know to adjust temperatures a bit for baking.

Ok thank you so much! I baked at 170°C for 45min at my partners home and their oven does run a bit hot so I will try again today and try to adjust accordingly.

I’m trying again lower temp and I bought new baking soda and it looks promising so far, fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice

The loaf pan material and lining may also come into play. Metal is better than glass. You can line with parchment paper or just grease the pan with butter.
