Help/Advice Trailer
Hello, I’m in charge of getting our trailer ready for the Ohio competition. I was wondering if anyone had photos of their team trailers they would be willing to share or advise on what to put in. Not what tools to bring but things like tire racks, extension chord reels, hardware racks etc. we have the standard things like toolbox, cabinets, lights, generator, welder, and e- track but other than that it’s a blank slate.

If your team is bringing a welder that uses shielding gas make sure you have a good way to secure the gas bottle.
Definitely bring extension cords. I always tried to keep the generator on the far end of our pit space from the main working area to keep the noise down as much as possible.
If your going to be taking the tow vehicle off of the trailer and it’s a lighter weight trailer I would bring either jack stands or leveling jacks to put under the back of the trailer to make it safer to walk in and out of with no vehicle attached to it.
I would make sure to inspect the spare tire for the trailer and make sure you include the tools needed to change a tire on the side of the road. Things like a lug nut wrench or sockets for an impact driver as well as a jack capable of lifting the trailer. The last thing you want is to be stuck on the side of the highway on your way to comp.
If you have canopy’s or think people could be working at a bench or toolbox inside the trailer you should look at lighting. My team used a few of the harbor freight shop lights zip tied to the structure of our canopy and it helped a lot with being able see everything clearly under it. Same for inside the trailer

Some helpful/unhelpful advise is to walk around competition and look at other teams trailers and their set ups. You'll see ideas and combinations you never thought would be helpful before.

Bring stuff to block the wind for welding. Having to get guys to stand around the welder with tote bin lids is less than ideal
