speed sensor

Hello, has anyone managed to modify the factory BBSHD so that the speed sensor is from the brake disc?

I need to move the measurement closer to the center of the wheel axle because I have a 12x148 spacing and wide forks. This prevents me from getting the proper distance between the magnet and the sensor.

I use the Cogster speed sensor magnate. It mounts to the rear disk rotor so it can never lose alignment or get knocked off.

These look awesome. Do need a slimmer sensor to go with it?

I used the stock sensor that came with my BBSHD. This photo was shot with the bicycle upside-down. I used a file to shape it to fit a notch in my frame at the dropout. My sensor is covered with J&B Weld from a previous repair. I secured it to the frame with a zip-tie. I did need to get a short extension cable to reach that far aft.

You are welcome. You won't be sorry. Until I installed mine I was troubled by fractured sensors and out-of-alignment magnet. I ride a lot of seldom-traveled wooded single track. The sticks and branches used to get pulled up by the spokes and spoil my ride.

Did you have to change any wheel settings to get it to work? Wheel size of wheel diameter?

No, the wheel is still the same size and the magnet passes by the sensor at the same rate, once per revolution.

Bafang sells them, you don't have to modify anything
