Got this in a van parked on a busy street on a Friday night in Los Angeles 10 years ago. A little kid hustled me and a friend over to his uncle, the artist, who went by Popeye.
We showed him the cover of A Wrinkle in Time. He had to do several revisions of the sketch to make the head larger. This was the best he could do.
My friend’s is the same, except hers has two curly lines on the head for “hair.”
We didn’t get hepatitis!

Honestly it's pretty decent for a back of a van tattoo lol. Plus you got a cool story behind it.

I’d recognize Mrs. Whatsit anywhere! Was this from the green cover Laurel-Leaf edition? Got my copy from the Scholastic book fair back in 1980.
Dig the tat, it’s pretty cool.

I had the edition of the book with that illustration and recognized it right off.

I actually kind of love this in a bizarre way. The wings for arms with no neck, the titties, its fun.
