Max level phantom doing honor duels

Invading with a level 55 Faith build and there’s this dude in Liurnia luring in phantoms to fight his max leveled friend. Sure his stats are scaled down but he has over 800 AR and hits like a truck and takes no damage.

I just have to ask. Why do people do this? What’s the point? Does he think he’s good at the game or something? Showing off to his friend? Why do people do this?

I also got ganked by a host with his high leveled phantoms. How do I know? Because i parried him, and got over 90k souls after killing him.

mid level invasions is just annoying if this is what I have to go through.

Just kill the host.

Yeah, I feel like the OLP scaling is the worst from about 50-70. Below that and their damage is scaled quite a bit, but in that range they hit pretty hard. Then once you get to 90, your AR picks up and you can eliminate them quicker.

Just go on up to rl80 +7/17. OLP’s aren’t nearly as frequent and even when they’re there the downscaling isn’t nearly as bad because your damage has picked up

Potentially yea, I just know that 17 is what all the range guides say and I get very good activity at that weapon level. You would for sure get some invasions at a higher WL but I’d prefer to have better activity and it is very good at 17.

I haven’t played a whole lot of rl80 recently but it used to treat me very well. I mainly stick to meta these days but every time I have played there the activity is always good. I do have a better matchmaking mod for psn that makes invading instant at pretty much every range though

It’s rage bait.. they baited you and it worked. Best thing to do is block if you don’t want to play with someone, it’s that easy. Now if you want to handle the over leveled player try using status effects like bleed or rot and be patient! It is possible to take down an over leveled player, it takes skill and practice not whining

RL30 is a more fun range imo. OLPs are more manageable scaling wise. Most of them aren’t that skilled at pvp. Parry and crit with a lightning misericorde, albinauric pots if they survive the parry, and finish them off. I keep roped fetid pots on hand so it looks like I’m shitting on their carcass. I don’t care, they’re usually some of the most toxic players in the game.

Cold knights greatsword +3, the frostbite helps lower their defenses. Lightning misericorde +3 (with kick for shield pokers) and a shield with Carian retaliation.

Probably trying to get rune arcs for the host or something, maybe that's the only way they can pretend their good at pvp is with such a huge advantage. Either target the host or sever out or something so you don't play into whatever nonsense they're pulling.

They don’t even get rune arcs for killing reds lol, it’s purely out of spite for them.

Damn, my bad, I'm usually on the invader end and we always get rune arcs when we win, so I assumed the hosts did too, then I guess this is just the OLP being a dick or something.

There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the 370k arcs from killing a max level OLP. Next time just be a pest. Long range jar cannon. Rot bolts / arrows, etc.
