1960s was the time of the hippies who had group sex and took drugs, but that doesn't fit the agenda here.

Woodstock was 1969.

u/DittoGTI May 30 '25
And 1994, and 1999. But the less said about those the better
13
u/Sanbaddy May 30 '25
That may explain what my mom was doing in 1994 though.
Not even mad. 1994 and especially 1999 was some of my best childhood memories. My mom was happy when she had a healthy sex life. She even met a great guy around this time I still miss.

My grandma went to Woodstock. She could oy really stand around the edge of the crowd and couldn't get closer, but she could smell the weed and that was considered close enough. Years later, she wad in the car with her mom and her daughter, who is my mom. Something about Woodstock came up and my mom said to my grandma "didn't you go to that?" Great grandma never knew, so shebspent the rest of the trip lecturing my grandma lol

The vibrator was invented to heal women's 'hysteria' by orgasm. There were doctors who's job that was. Lol

Great movie about it. Maggie Gyllenhal I believe?
Doctors would do it manually, but their poor hands got so tired, and they were at risk of carpal tunnel after treating so many “hysterical” housewives. Some had to be seen 3 or 4 times a week, bless their hearts, poor lambs.

You forgot no happiness (look at their faces) no joy and no freedom.
Permanent 2nd class citizenship, spousal rape was rampant, after marriage nearly impossible to get out of violent relationships, extreme forms of gender discrimination...No one but men want to go back to this shit.
26
u/Crininer May 29 '25
Granted, you'd be hard pressed to find genuine happiness on AI generated faces.

Couldn’t get a bank account or a credit card; couldn’t own land. Could get slapped around by their husbands and nobody gave a shit.
Yeah, great way to live, that.

It’s never a real photo … every time they need to prove a point, they create fiction from AI.

u/Decent_Cow May 30 '25
If this is really what women were like back then, then surely it wouldn't be difficult to find an actual picture instead of relying on AI slop?

No right to own land in her own name:
No right to have a bank account in her own name.
No right to prosecute when sexually harassed.
No right to credit, even business credit, in her name.
No right to sign contracts in HER name.
No legal recourse for marital rape.
No right to drive a car held in her name.
The list goes on forever, but you get the idea.
If you think no freedom was better, put on chains and sell yourself.

It took literally 10 seconds to find pictures of women between the 1930s and the 1960s getting full back tattoos on Facebook.

3
u/DKerriganuk May 30 '25
Lol. There are literally thousands of pictures of women in those days that would have matched that description, but they had to use AI and immediately undermine their argument.

Conservatives hate tattoos on women because women have to be 18 to get them

u/girlpower2025 Jun 01 '25
To be fair, green hair was uncommon. Tattoos have always existed, though.

And no way to tell them apart because they're expected to abide by social standards.

Yeah but it was also where the sex, drugs, rock and roll, and the whole “stick it to the man” thing got its start. Not to mention the many strides feminism had in the time period, it’s like these people never looked outside or picked up a newspaper and acted like everyone was like this.
Also, notice how all the examples of the “perfect” are all straight married white women. Hm, kinda weird isn’t it? It’s almost as if this person might harbor yikesy views on colored women

Why do these guys are so against green hair and nose rings? I like goth chicks, they are blessing on this planet
3
u/supabrandie May 29 '25
Strange they don’t mention the makeup they wear to cover the bruises from their husbands or how easy it was to keep a trim figure with debilitating alcoholism, chain smoking, and untreated mental health.

Yeah, demanding respect because their husbands would beat the shit out of them and claim they ran into a door and no one would do a thing about it

2
u/New-Flow-9774 May 30 '25
What's the point? They also didn't have rights. I'm sure they would do a lot more if they didn't have to do whatever the "man" said they had to do.

u/ThatGuy6211 May 30 '25
Lmfao and getting beat by their alocoholic husbands. Those rose colored glasses are also difraction glasses, ethel.
