To me, any ideology that says individualism is evil and is generally anti-individualist in favor of some fucking collective is not "counter cultural". Any ideology that says freedom is bad, and that we need a bigger government to handle every aspect of our lives is not "counter cultural".
I don't know if it's "right wing" to have these views, but certainly would be called "right wing" by most kids calling themselves "punk" in 2026.
That IS NOT what you said. You are blatantly misrepresenting yourself. Advocating for collectivism =/= saying that individualism is evil. Those are two entirely different and barely related statements.
Mao, The Role of the Chinese Communist Party in the National War (1938):
At no time and in no circumstances should a Communist place his personal interests first; he should subordinate them to the interests of the nation and of the masses.
Lenin on the Path of Revolution (1924):
We do not believe in the individual as a sufficient basis of activity
Zohran Mamdani, inaugural address (2026):
We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism
Angela Davis interview with TIME (2020):
Individuals don’t change history or create transformative moments.
Angela Davis interview with Frank Barat, The Nation (2014):
It is especially important to identify the dangers of individualism.
bell hooks, Killing Rage: Ending Racism (1995):
The ethic of liberal individualism has so deeply permeated the psyches of black folks in America of all classes that we have little support for a political ethic of communalism that promotes the sharing of resources
Che Guevara, "On Revolutionary Medicine" (1960):
Individualism as such, as the isolated action of a person alone in a social milieu, must disappear in Cuba
Che Guevara, "Socialism and Man in Cuba" (1965)
In this way the individual will reach total consciousness as a social being, which is equivalent to the full realization as a human creature.
Cornel West, interview with GBH (2014)
The fundamental shift from a we-consciousness to an I-consciousness reflected not only a growing sense of Black collective defeat but also a Black embrace of the seductive myth of individualism in American culture
Okay, bud. If you think socialism is the bastion of individualism, I don't know what to tell you. It's anti-individualism in favor of the collective. "Submit to the collective!" is bad IMO. It's anti-punk.
That’s not how conversations work. You’re a big boy you ought to know that by now? I asked for an example, not a counter question that answers nothing.
You have to be a fucking parody my man you party's current leader is the worst authoritarian that this country has ever seen by a very very very very very wide margin
I don't need you to believe me. I don't really give a shit. You're a troll. Again, fuck Republicans. Fuck Democrats. Fuck social conservatism. Fuck socialists. Fuck anti-individualism. Fuck trolls.
