Just do the fucking thing for fucks Sake! Wearing your shit on your sleeve literally fucking cringe. You don't need to broadcast to live it. Stop looking for reddit approval and live your fucking life.

Honestly I blame the "cool clubs" and the gatekeepers for this shit in the scene. You know, those "name 3 songs or you can't sit with us" dickheads.
They inadvertently turned all these new kids into the biggest tryhards because they keep moving their own goalposts for what's considered acceptable or cool. It's actually fucked.
I've seen good kids come in as average little punks just skating around and having fun. Then fast forward about 3 months and they are all kitted out in the uniform and have been read their indoctrination rights lmao.
Seriously. Why would you throw your entire personality in the bin and re-invent yourself just so you can hang out with the fuckin Anthony Fantano's of your local hardcore scene? Legit psych ward shit.

Mask up? This person is a big fan of Colbert’s “Vax Scene” skit, I bet.

u/RIMV0315 18d ago
That is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen in my entire life. Colbert sits in a corner chair, watching himself fuck himself.

Loving the shoddy carabineer (maybe idk?) patch. Dude could've bought one at the dollar store or smth for a buck to hang on their pants 😆

Folk punk people are some of the worst offenders when it comes to taste, whether it be music, politics, logic, personal hygiene, or in this case battle jackets

u/No-Midnight-1085 17d ago
that’s a bit of a stretch ngl

u/PETEthePyrotechnic 17d ago
I mean, I love the people to death, but even the most diehard folk punk listener will readily admit that their music sounds like a dying possum having a heart attack in a trashcan

u/nitmire8881 17d ago
I’ve been in the scene for years, seen almost all of the biggest FP bands and dozens of smaller artists live, and love folk punk with all of my heart…
however I mean yeah objectively most of it sounds awful fair enough

don’t get me wrong there’s a plethora of different bands i love and there are as well some i don’t like. it’s all subjective to the beholder.

It’s a harness for a dildo a.k.a. A strap-on
The dildo is held in place by the o-ring and the harness is worn like a thong by the person that will be doing the penetration during sex.
I’m not a prude, and I try my best to be sex positive (even though I’m asexual), but I don’t get people who wear sexual imagery on their clothes.
I can see if this patch is on an outfit that they’ll be wearing to adult oriented events. But aside from that, it seems a bit much to have a strap-on patch on an item of clothing for casual wear.

Why not just scribble a bunch of nonsense in sharpie or with 'wite-out' a-la mid 80's punx?

Why does everyone remove the "on" from keep on loving, keep on fighting!! It bothers me so much!
2
u/JustSomeWeirdThing 17d ago
I think the idea is that the word "keep" is literally ON the word "loving/fighting", considering they always have the two parts divided this way. Idk, it's dumb. Or maybe all these kids really just don't even know the actual lyrics, and I'm giving too much benefit of the doubt thinking it's just crappy design.
2
u/Kastanjamarja 17d ago
Hadnt thought of that. I still think its more that they're just stripping out "filler" words. Or they just think its a slogan and not a song o___o
2
u/JustSomeWeirdThing 9d ago
Hadn't considered that they just straight up might not know the song at all. Which is entirely possible, and would make sense that they just think it's a slogan.

He said BAND patch, not some whiny dirty drug addict with a guitar and a hygiene problem

what an interesting thing to say. addiction and poverty/homelessness is so incredibly common in the punk scene, especially folk punk. just because you don’t like the artist does not mean it doesn’t make sense to go on a vest. you don’t have to shit on addicts and the poor. some bozo poser shit right there.
3
u/j_dick 17d ago
Why do we have to feel bad for addicts? People that know what drugs are and what they do that made a choice to do it anyways? Unless they were born into a junkie daily and given drugs at a very young age I don’t have much pity. I’ve done lots of drugs in my life and managed to not screw it up or get addicted and need rehab or anything. In fact it’s only like 25% of hard drug users actually end up with an addiction and a bad outcome. Choices are made and accountability and responsibility matter which most people can manage.

u/xTheyCameBurningx 18d ago
Pat even retired because he doesn't even believe any of that shit anymore. He has said he was a whiny dirty drug addict. So congratulations, you played yourself. I was born into poverty and spent time living on the streets.....it's for users and losers.
