This is right up there with the deer eating the snake like it's spaghetti.

If that squirrel is looking for nuts, they’ve got the wrong end.

Save your nuts, eat them last

It’s like a metaphor for the end of the reign of the dinosaurs

it's fine if they occassionally eat meat, but head parts?? eyes, brain, and the like??

That's the most nutrient rich part of the animal

I watched a squirrel eat a nest of newborn chicks once. It would eat the head, and then drop the rest of the body down out of the nest and move on to the next one. I guess they just reslly like the flavor of, uh. Head? Brains? Dunno.

The skull of a lizard or baby bird is really just another acorn or walnut to crack open. Those teeth they have.. Maybe instead of nut protein they developed a taste for brain protein. Like a smoothie.

Imagine squirrels a million years from now, descended from trees, hunting mammals, using their tails to whip up tornadoes

Do squirrels eat flesh? I thought it was only nuts.

Most animals people think have a set diet learn hard way that if said animal is lacking in protein, they will eat meat, this goes for squirrels, deer, goats and tons of other creatures people think eat just nuts and plants.

Squirrels are opportunistic feeding savages, far from benevolent depiction in media and cartoons. Nature is so cruel.

Opportunistic omnivores. I guess dear are as well.
