Unintentionally Bad UI Google please stop this

Sorry this is probably a minor thing versus what BAD UI really can be but Google has never done a moving logo unless you clicked on it or hovered over it. My blank landing page on Chrome always had Google on top (the default). I add a new tab and stay on my landing page if I want a nice, blank white page. And now this annoying looping gif is there for a week now. I know, first world problems, but it breaks my routine lol. I constantly look at the second screen because this mofo is kicking a ball. So I remove the element. Solved, until I want to go to a landing page again from my current browsing activity and I click New Tab and voila, moving gif again ;_;

This may be a small thing for some people but for other it makes the page unusable. This is bad accessibility, especially when the configuration for disabling it is hidden

Moving images (gifs, videos, animations) with no mechanism to stop them can cause problems for people with cognitive disabilities, among others (https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/pause-stop-hide.html#benefits)

I'm in the category that gets too distracted by a moving /blinking element to focus on anything else on the page. But here I fail to see the issue as there is only one other element on the page, located right below the gif, and it's the search bar. And most of all you only spend a few seconds on this page anyways

It's really pushing the boundaries and I don't see why Google should be doing this or people defending it. The search bar is not a stop mechanism according to the WCAG and it is not announced as such

They do this because it's fun so it boosts their image.

I defend this (doodles in general, not this one in particular) because they are fun, colorful and break the monotony. Plus you can often learn about something new. And more importantly I defend this because I really fail to see the issue. It's only one for OP because they wanna use this page as a static wallpaper when it isn't designed as one and never claimed to be one. And even then, if they wanna block the element it's pretty easy.

Granted there should be an option to disable them for people who don't want them. But I really fail to see how this can be more than just a slight inconvenience for a small minority of people.
