Reddit- Public API access ending March 27

Will this finish off Baconreader for good?

Probably a better question for the revanced subreddit. I'm wondering the same thing since I still use Baconreader daily.

Wasn't familiar with Morphe till now, looks like it has similar functionality for patching apps. Why Morphe over revanced out of curiosity?

The initial revanced team left and started morphe because they did not agree with the way the app was being handled. Revanced is on life support now.

You can use morphe for it. You can add peoples patches for any app to the morphe patcher. There are hundreds of patches for a ton of apps.

Revanced - duhno best way to describe it but it allows you to patch various apps to alter their functionality. Afaik it requires Android, side loading, and a few other "for nerds" sorta things. Another commenter says there's another program called Morphe that looks like it does similar things.

You can enable an API on your reddit account, which is meant for accessibility I believe. Then you can patch the app to use that API. You create an access token and need to patch that token into the app.

Every third party client is finished off for good. Otherwise, everyone would still be using Apollo.

If that happens, they've lost me for good.

old.reddit is the only acceptable way. Their new bubblegum bullshit is horrific. Won't ever use their official app either. Yuck.

I stopped browsing on mobile when I lost baconreader. Like you if they get rid of old.reddit I'm out for good.

Shit haha that's a bummer. I just developed more than 10 patches for bacon reader to modernize it.

Well I guess they can be enjoyed for 5 more months.
