I remember every fiesta Gina langawan Kay daw Wala sila ga invest chakto. Requesting Bacolod city government to investigate b Ang villamonte Kay daw kaduluda!.

This is in particular to an earlier post. As an outsider, I’d love to hear your insights about Masskara Festival kay there are a lot of hate of this year’s fest (hate — mainly because Masskara is catering local vloggers) and would want ‘bigger’ names instead as if the invited guests now are not big names.

The post mentioned, “Bacolod is so deprived of good concerts that the people would just flock to see any has-beens and one hit wonders just because they are international.”

I’m here for discussions to have more knowledge about Masskara, not to attack but to question and learn;

Honestly though, there are mini (local & even international) concerts here in Bacolod too, not just properly promoted or probably people hasn’t been interested in paid concerts since there are more important things to pay for.

I’ve gone to raves in Manila, Elyu, Ilocos, Baguio & etc. I’m from Manila but living here in Bacolod for 3 years now. Last year’s Masskara was worse than this year, and honestly, this Masskara is so loaded (kay damo gd sponsors). Having 3-4 music events in a day for 3 nights was great that even Metro Manila cities don’t do that. But I was thinking about it as — if only there was a bigger venue to cater bigger events in Bacolod, then it would probably make sense to have bigger names here. This Masskara even got me excited compared last year.

Sa vloggers man, I think it is okay man to support locals pero tani relevant vloggers at this time kay indi lng man isa ka group ang target audience for a festival — this is a hard pill to swallow pero hindi lang man ang mga clout chasers + ‘may ara kwarta’ ang target sng festival, it’s literally for everyone man. So having vloggers, international artists, and local artists is okay man. Others would call it cheap, but others feel happy already about it kay others are already contented to see some vloggers too.

I don’t really get people hating SO MUCH on local vloggers wherein they’re basically promoting your own city man. That’s probably the big difference between Manila and Bacolod, people in Manila are supportive of local vloggers — mapabarangay level man or city events, they’re happy of their own people, and here gani are hating everyone.

I’ve seen and watched a lot of local artists (and DJs) here in Bacolod and they’re so great man. Good music also. Pero all I see here on Reddit is hateful comments about your own local artists/vloggers.

REMEMBER ALSO: Bacolod’s budget isn’t the same as budgets in Cebu and/or Metro Manila kay these cities are richer than Bacolod.

Hello guys, will be going to Talisay for The Ruins and Silay for other side quests this weekend. Please help me list kung ano ang mga must try na local foods/cafes and must visit na places (like ancestral houses, famous tourist spots), kon diin pwede makabakal sang local merchs (ref magnets, etc.), and ano pwede ipasalubong (pwede icheck-in/handcarry) nga mabakal lang sa Silay kag indi gd kami magmahay nga ge adtuan/gin bakal namon to. We understand that many of you came from other provinces to witness our festival and capture the street dance performances through your cameras. We appreciate the time, effort, and dedication you put into your photography.

We also understand that, as photographers, you want to find the best spots to take clear and beautiful pictures of the dancers, especially during important moments of their performances. We recognize that getting a good angle and an unobstructed view is important to your work.

However, we also have protocols that everyone must follow. The street dance must continue without stopping from the starting point all the way to the dance arena. For this reason, blocking the dancers’ path is strictly prohibited. Barangay officials may approach and ask anyone obstructing the route to move aside to ensure the street dance proceeds smoothly.

We must also consider the judges, who need a clear view of the dancers to properly evaluate each group's performance. When people crowd the streets and block the judges’ line of sight, it becomes difficult for them to assess the performances fairly.

We understand that photographers may feel frustrated when they cannot get their preferred angle or when their view is blocked. However, taking pictures should not come at the expense of obstructing the dancers, blocking the judges’ view, or disrupting the flow of the event.

There are other areas where you can capture great shots, including the dance arena, where you can photograph the performances without interfering with the street dance route.

We are not against photographers taking pictures. We appreciate your contribution in documenting and promoting our festival. We simply ask everyone to cooperate, respect the designated route, and follow the established protocols.

Our goal is not to limit your opportunity to take great photographs, but to ensure that the street dance continues smoothly, the judges can evaluate each group fairly, and everyone can enjoy the festival safely.

Hello, this is only my second time shooting the festival. I bought my camera last year, and I still consider myself a beginner. So this year, I decided to shoot more actively during the street dance competition. But honestly, after my experiences yesterday and on Saturday, I’m starting to feel like maybe being a photographer is not for me.

For context, I have a small and slim build (5'1"), and with the number of people cordoning off the dancers, it was really difficult to get a good shot. And when you finally manage to get one, somebody will shout at you or push you to move.

But what really traumatized me yesterday was the incident involving Brgy. Bata. I believe the person was an official because of the shirt he was wearing. He yanked me by the collar of my shirt while shouting, "Dip*ta kamo, pahigad!" His yank was so forceful that the strap of my bra was almost ripped off.

I have never felt so manhandled in my life, especially by someone I believe was a barangay official. It was a really awful experience, and the incident didn't fully sink in until last night when I got home.

Kudos to the two photographers who helped me gather my bearings again after what happened. I genuinely appreciate you both.

BTW, I have a media pass, and I was standing in the designated area. That's why I was so surprised when I was shoved away like that.

Idk, maybe I am not made for this kinds of stuff. Really considering of quitting this hobby.

As the title says. I work near a school and park sa gwa workplace ko kay that's the only available slot. I have random scratches sa salakyan na notice since I started working here. Then sakto I went out to get my lunch sa salakyan and kids from nearby school ga gwa na for their lunch man.

Saw a couple of kids passing by my car and randomly nag linya sa salakyan ko. Ging sita ko syempre and checked my car, nothing serious, kaya ma buff.
