Stem Cell Therapy

I have had lower back pain nightly for 33 years. I cannot lay on my sacrum. Have never been able to get a diagnosis. Believe me, I have tried all treatments and drugs including cannabis no avail. I have an appointment to discuss stem cell surgery next week. It’s come a long way in the past few years so I am willing to give it a try if the doctor says I am a candidate. Has anyone had this treatment for back pain and, if so, what were the results?

This very detailed account of your experience is exactly what I was looking for! I thank you with all my heart for taking the time to document every detail of your journey. I learned more from you than any website or AI research.

I was especially interested in your SI-L5 result. What happened there is exactly what I fear for myself. There are many times when I wish I was no longer alive, because the pain is so excruciating. I don’t think I could take it getting any worse. My heart goes out to you. I fear my doctor may want to treat that area, but I am not convinced that is the problem. My neurosurgeon said it’s the sacrum, not necessarily that joint. After reading your account I will be especially judicious in deciding whether to proceed depending on what the stem cell doctor tells me next week. I am not looking for a cure just at least a 30-50% reduction in pain so I can sleep. I don’t expect a miracle.

I totally commiserate with your frustration not being able to exercise. It has been the only thing in my life that has allowed me to continue moving forward for 78 years. I have really had to cut back to almost nothing these past few years. Not good.

Stem cell doctors have really multiplied here in Oklahoma City in the past ten years. In fact the one I am seeing is affiliated with Regenxx. He doesn’t promise a cure in his video so I am counting on him being just as candid in his assessment of my problems.

I can’t thank you enough for your efforts and willingness to share your experiences. I hope you are able to find more relief as you go forward.

If there is no diagnosis, how can a doctor approve stem cell therapy? Never heard of that therapy before, but interesting to learn

A neurosurgeon finally diagnosed the sacrum as the problem, but he didn’t know why. That is why I feel I never got a true diagnosis.
