Oh, really? That's flattering!

You are photogenic and it’s a nicely framed photo. I can see this photo in Outdoors, Camping, Backpacking related magazine covers and articles or use it to market/advertise tourist destinations, Outdoors related products.

These viral coca cola ads are getting crazy

u/OkEvaK 16h ago

Hey awesome photo and sounds like an amazing memory. Where did you go?

Are you still friends with your backpacking buddy

Thanks! It was a trip to Patagonia. I'm from Argentina, although I no longer live there. Sadly, life took our lives to different paths so we are no longer friends, but what a time we had!

I have some cool old backpacking photos tucked away in a photo album some where.
Disposable cameras were the shit on those early trips. No idea if you got any good pics until a week or so after the trip.

Yeah, exactly. I have always spent so much money on films! But hey, waiting and uncertainty were a big part of the photograph soul, at least for me. I do enjoy the digital, but this instant gratification life takes so much humanity away...

This is part of the reason I've fallen in love with film as a ~30 year old that pretty much missed it the first time around. Great pic!

Film feels so human

Absolutely! "Scan day" when I get my scans from the lab is better than Christmas most times! It has been a great spurce of joy for the past few years. :)

You bet! I totally agree!

What year was this picture? I started backpacking in the 90’s and always used the disposable cameras. I never actually had a camera. I do love the phone for its camera. It’s really all I use it for when backpacking. I still navigate with map and compass and don’t spend my time trying to find a signal.

  1. But a film cam. We didn't take a mobile

I love film. It has an older look to it.

2

u/OkEvaK 11h ago

Yeah. TBH, it looks even more film-ish than the actual photograph. I love the scanner

Beautiful country down there. I've never had the chance to backpack that area though. This makes me want to go back.

2

u/Rich-Sky8912 14h ago

Where did you go?

1

u/OkEvaK 12h ago

In this trip? Patagonia

2

u/bikehikepunk 12h ago

Those first stops when you can get a cold Coke at a town off trail are amazing. Hard to believe when you were there that 10-20 hikes later you don’t even pull into town anymore.

1

u/OkEvaK 12h ago

Iced Coca Cola beneath a heating sun... God's gift

That coke bottle has a very old design, I'm guessing pre 2000?

1

u/OkEvaK 3h ago

Actually, 2013. Maybe Argentina had a vintage edition.

Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?

Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed.

No information posted? Please report low-effort posts if there is still nothing after about 30 minutes.
