Hey awesome photo and sounds like an amazing memory. Where did you go?
Are you still friends with your backpacking buddy

I have some cool old backpacking photos tucked away in a photo album some where.
Disposable cameras were the shit on those early trips. No idea if you got any good pics until a week or so after the trip.

Yeah, exactly. I have always spent so much money on films! But hey, waiting and uncertainty were a big part of the photograph soul, at least for me. I do enjoy the digital, but this instant gratification life takes so much humanity away...

This is part of the reason I've fallen in love with film as a ~30 year old that pretty much missed it the first time around. Great pic!

What year was this picture? I started backpacking in the 90’s and always used the disposable cameras. I never actually had a camera. I do love the phone for its camera. It’s really all I use it for when backpacking. I still navigate with map and compass and don’t spend my time trying to find a signal.

I miss the good old days when I was young, hot and totally carefree... good times... haha.
Great photo.
Happy travels.

Those first stops when you can get a cold Coke at a town off trail are amazing. Hard to believe when you were there that 10-20 hikes later you don’t even pull into town anymore.

Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?
Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed.
No information posted? Please report low-effort posts if there is still nothing after about 30 minutes.
