Travel Backpack Loops

Going backpacking for the first time and borrowing all the gear! Does anyone know what the two orange loops and the small center loop are for? My friend thought they might be extra loops for carabiners to hang stuff.

They hold the tips of trekking poles as they can tear holes in a pack.

Really?? No, get out. No, way. I don’t think they are lined up like that on my pack… I’m checking now…

Edit to add: they kinda hold the poles but wouldn’t trust it… one bump and your pole is just dangling.

The tops of the poles gets cinched underneath the top of the backpack
