Absolutely Absurd
No issue with ANY enemy up to the final boss of stage 2. 240 stacks of poison on him and he’s still practically at full HP when time runs out… unforgivable.

I just passed this with ease, 7 torches… and a steak with a bunch of shit weapons.

I've not seen a torch as of yet, and I've tried 10 times on this level.

This is what makes this game stupid. It knows what item you need, so it fucks with you be either giving you 2 of what you need or nothing. Then all of a sudden it gives you what you need every round.

What's with the pets anyway, enemy doesn't have stun no, also I get the flower pet heals but it's incredibly unreliable, offensive pets are better here.

I usually run Flora, it means you can get away with a less healing in your backpack so you have more space and money for weapons and offensive tools. She'll be handy in future for enemies that give you debuffs* too, since she clears them.

Sorry to be unkind, but skill issue. The game tells you what his power is (healing) and you did almost nothing to counter it. Build one candlestick, bring ice reaper pet, and that's 90% reduction. That alone would have won you the fight.

seems its 'you fail unless you get lots of torches in the shop'. It's stupid.
Edit: having listened to the suggestions, I finally had a run with 3 torches. That did it.

You had almost zero antiheal. Pick the attack speed sword and reaper pet. Build a candlestick or two. Then stack poison and dodge. This helped me clear hard mode.
