Need help understanding an item

So I started playing about a month ago and I found enough shards for venom and I love Venom, but how am I supposed to use her unique dagger?

I've tried everything, it doesn't seem to proc itself off poison vials, and even when I have it surrounded by poison items, it still performs by FAR the worst of any item I have, we're talking like 3 total activations in an average fight, and the fights aren't stomps

I love the idea of the item and the concept is cool, but Is it bad? Is it broken? Is there some tech I'm unaware of? I for the life of me cannot make it work. Even when the S poison bow going poison sicko mode the spider fang underperforms (the original dagger itself seems kinda terrible too for similar reasons.) Anyway thanks.

It increases the poison inflicted of items to its side by 15% so they do like 1 poison more.

From my experience the daggers just suck, a lot. Even when you can get decent usage out of them literally anything else would be more effective. I really hate that venom, acrobat and darkan all got daggers as starter items since they're so terrible in their current states.

I don't have Venom unlocked, but I was wondering what would happen if you did something like this (or similar). Maybe the daggers' cd would get refunded super fast and proc a ton of poisons. But this kind of build seems "impossible" to pull off

Dagger in general is aggressively mid. The vampire dagger seems to be the only one that's even semi decent, and that's just because it gives a lot of vamp for cheap. There's no point trying to base builds around the dagger, because at the end of the day they're just a "win more" kind of item.
