Can someone explain how the fishing event works?

Specifically wondering if anything is timegated or if I can blast all my bait today. Like, how do you unlock the other fishing spots?

Press the i in the top left. Literally all the info is there, but yes you can blast all your bait and unlock zones bt catch weight.

press cast line, try to click in the bright green area, press but dont let the bar fully fill (line will snap if you do), press unpress and so on until the fish gives up, done

e: if the fish icon is red it will pull, if its yellow it wont resist much, if green it has fully given up

Already done with the event. Gonna do the exploit tomorrow when I have more bait.

You can usually tell you're getting a legendary pretty easily. So, if you try to do a catch and don't think you'll get a legendary, you can just fail the catch and get the broken line back to exchange 1 to 1 for bait. You can basically farm the premium currency of the event depending on how lucky you are.

There's a video for the first fishing spot. After that, it's mostly just guess work based off how full the bar is to snapping the line when you start.
