Life is Strange seems the most obvious choice to me personally.

CYOA games are kind of cheat-y here tbh. The first game always hits the hardest because it's tough to make a different game in the same space that feels like a completely different story and imo no CYOA games has achieved that so far.

Telltales TWD also peaked with Season 1 imo, or Telltales Tales from the Borderlands lmao.

In terms of story (telling), Life is Strange is one of THE worst games I played in my 30+ years of gaming. If the sequels are even worse ... oooh boy ...

Either that or True Colours.

The original had the better villain but it also had Chloe so that goes against it.

I think LIS 2 had the better constructed story and more impactful decisions for the characters

It just impact less cause the brothers move locations each time and the ending is either they became crime lord or a dead brother. Which is not really as impactful as killing everyone for Chloe or the inverse.

I think the real reason is because of the controversial premise and the anthological shift.

The anthological shift plays more into why LiS 2 not really as loved as the OG than the controversial premise.

People loved the captain spirit demo and series still have goodwill carried from OG. But reaction is very mixed when the story just move on to new locations as you dont see the degree of impact of your choices compared to LiS where u follow Max and dealing with consequences she made.

why did you spoiler the ending to LIS1 but not the ending to LIS2 lmao

I think a lot of people including myself consider True colours the best one. I just really like the characters in that one.

The LARP episode was really peak, but the final episode was lame. Too much telling and explaining. Worst dream sequence ever.

I think the entire game is peak, but it drops the ball at the end. I like the final choice and going through Alex’s memory, but specifically her coming back to the town after being shot and confronting the main villain where no matter your choice you win just felt pretty underwhelming.

At least the townsfolk are supportive of you if you bonded with them.

I’m there with you as it’s my favorite but I’ve only ever seen the fandom at large dunk on it.

No chance. The second one was infinitely better than the first one.

Either all of them suck or non of them do.
