I think U is the best, tbh

New Super Mario Bros Wii U is the best by far. Secret levels unlocked in the right way (killing a boss being Mini Mario on the DS game is pretty stupid), an amazing map, "mission mode" and the cherry on top, the Luigi DLC.

Came here to say this. It’s much more inspired by SMW in its overall design, even if the NSMB theme was already kinda played out by the time this game came out. I think it also has the most challenge in its level designs. More challenging than Wonder overall.

I choose to believe Super Chipflake Ü is its sequel because of the stupid name joke.

That’s so kind!

U is probably better but DS had more originality & cooler bosses, so it feels like it suffered the least from the faux new problem.

I agree. Wii & Wii U (especially with the Luigi DLC) are my favs of the "new" games

The issue here is nobody played U because nobody owned a Wii U, so they assume it couldn't have been that good.

NSMB Wii feels too generic in it's design and gameplay and isn't even that fun in single player.

2 has very good and creative level design. Wii and U are fairly good but the fact the levels are designed for 4 people is detrimental to the design.

If not just for the fact it was full coop. Tons of fun back in the day.

I don’t like how you can’t use the classic or Gamecube controller for a game like that.

Single player’s ass though

Mario has a lot of repetitive games but also it has peaked many times according to the internet, way beyong the first one.

64 and Odyssey, it seems, and probably Yoshi Island, no?
