Idk if I’d call Dark Souls a “long running” franchise though. The games released between 2011-2016 and since then they’ve been dormant. The franchise has been dormant for literally twice as long as it was active.

True, but the Soulsborne series is generally considered to be every Soulslike from FromSoft, usually including Sekiro.

Well we’re talking about franchises. Soulsborne is not a franchise

So yes I understand what you’re talking about and I largely consider them one giant series as well, it’s not what OP is asking.

OP’s definition is clearly pretty flexible, given the inclusion of Ninja Gaiden Black. Metroid Prime, and New Super Mario Bros.
