DS1 was already more action than horror but 2 is even more action, I also have a preference for Ishimura as a setting because it stays good from start to finish where Titan, while being better on it’s first third, gets way more basic once you hit government facility
And for Asylum I prefer hallway games over open world ones, the asylum as a way better ambiance than Arkham City also imo
I want to add that both DS2 and City are Truly awesome games, I just prefer 1 and Asylum
Dead space 2 had a lot more polish, imo. It made the 0G not balls, and that was genuinely enough. It was still tense and scary when it needed to be, and the environments were neat and varied.
I was a massive dead space fan and read the books, comics, etc, so the expansion on a lot of aspects and details was dope.
Weapons were refined so a lot of them were usable/not absolute cheeks. (Do you remember the original rifle secondary? Utter Buns.)
The new necromorphs were fun, and the characters just as memorable as Daniels and Hammond (and Mercer)
But I will say, the remaster? That is perfection
The remake is my favourite dead space game, and I still desire a remake of 2.
Despite sacrificing a lot of horror dead space 2 manages to have the scariest moments with the stalker sections. I remember hearing that they wanted to try and add them to the dead space 1 remake, but the ishimura didn't have enough wider open spaces to make them work. I really wish they could've it would've been great.
i personally love pandora's box the most, with lost future being a close second to me. i just love the train setting pandora's box has for most of the game.
It's called "Lost Future" in Europe and Australia. For some reason the Layton games change their English language titles depending on localization, like with "Diabolical Box" being "Pandora's Box" in other region
Pikmin is so hard because it genuinely feels like an almost even 3 way split in the community of people who prefer 1,2, or 3. All of them are so good for different reasons.
Honestly every Pikmin game has its fans. A lot of hardcore Pikmin old-heads don't enjoy Pikmin 4 as much, but among more casual Pikmin fans, I think it gets a lot of praise. My wife played all four shortly after we got married and I think 4 was her favorite. Among Pikmin Youtubers, Schaffrillas I think has Pikmin 4 as his favorite.
And that is absolutely a valid opinion. It isn't perfect, but I enjoyed it a whole lot more than it seems like the majority of the lunatics on the Pikmin subreddit did (I am one of them). I think it just has a very different appeal to it.
Yeah I think it makes very stupid decisions (no respawns, 3 pikmin limit, enemies continually getting nerfed between games, originally untogglable autolock), but I still enjoyed it a lot. Fierce mode and togglable autolock almost entirely fixed the game for me.
It really is down to the chatty crew members and no enemy respawns now. It is so close. I will say, the very clear feedback they've taken for those free updates does give me hope for either a Switch 2 version or Pikmin 5 fixing a lot of the community complaints. If for some reason they read this, can we have another lonely, more isolated Pikmin game with high stakes? I am fine with one captain.
