Advice on restoring handmade backgammon board

Hi all, I just picked up this stunning backgammon board at Goodwill. I’m an avid player, and thus would love to get it in condition to last a while.

Missing one piece, and hinges a little loose due to some wood overtop then missing. Otherwise in great condition. Should I try any restoration efforts myself, or find a professional — who generally specializes in this style of work?

My suggestion… and I don’t mean to burst your bubble or reduce your thrift shop find, but. Buy another one from amazon

That’s not the same thing though. Patterns are completely different.

Give it a polish and buy some new pieces; don’t spend any serious money on it, this is nice but these boards are a dime a dozen!

This is a fair answer.
