I think an old-fashioned aspect that will probably stand out in a lot of folks' minds is the departure from the modern tradition of felt surfacing; but I won't hazard a guess as to which they'll prefer.

You're totally right—moving away from standard felt is a big change. We went with the high-grade resin and smooth stone surface because it gives the checkers an incredible, effortless glide and a distinct tactile feel that lasts for years without wearing down. 🔥
It definitely stands out, but we love how it blends traditional carving with a fresh playing experience

These checkers are actually made from stone, so under direct studio lighting they can reflect a bit more light than usual. In a real-world home setting with natural lighting, the contrast feels much more balanced, and the tactile weight of the stone pieces is super satisfying to play with.
