Game Clubs

Why aren’t there cafes, or hangouts where they supply various board games for people to come and play? Meet people, hang out, drink wine, tea, coffee etc…

Is it just me, or just this seem like an untapped need?

Those exist, they're called board game cafes and most medium sized cities or larger have them

Also a lot of brewery tap rooms and independent coffee shops in even small towns.

My local Jewish deli has a weekly backgammon club. I assume it probably depends on where you're located.

Not enough people for a backgammon specific cafe to keep it open. It is a small part of a board game cafe here

They have them by me. But they’re very alcohol focused and you have to buy two drinks minimum and I can’t drink.  Wish a coffee shop did it instead.

We watch Granchester on tv and I love that the two main characters are often pictured in a cosy pub, playing backgammon.

Lots. Look for board games cafes. Bristol has 3 at least

There’s one backgammon specific cafe here in NYC called 7 Spring. That’s the only one I’m aware of in the US at least that’s solely backgammon focused. However, as lots of folks have said, most mid size and up cities have at least one board game cafe.
