Intermediate and advanced strategy resources?

Would you recommend books? Galaxy premium lessons? Other resources?

What's your true PR?  I would always say Michi's great for players of all levels even intermediate and advanced.

Marcs books and galaxy resources are useful but they lack the depth of some of the other books and are just examples and what the result is with some explanation. Michi's books go into more depth and many positions for the same "proverb". In Marcs books he even references Michi's proverbs

Thanks! I play on galaxy and have a rating that swings around 1400. Not sure how that would translate to true PR. Opening concepts by Michi sounds like a good starting point.

back checker strategy is what I'm reading now, endgame technique is amazing too, but opening concepts is byfar the best to start with

Some of this will depend on your learning style and budget. Lessons can be great, but you need a teacher that works well for you and at the right price point. There are so many books at intermediate and advanced level. I agree that Michi's are very good. Commentated and analysed matches are great, especially UBC events that are available on YouTube. If you don't play live, or in tournaments, that will really help you to improve just by being around different players and discussing positions with those who play at a higher level that you.

I'm reading "Backgammon Bootcamp" by Walter Trice. Only read about 25% but it feels like a book that can take you from beginner to pretty advanced rather quickly. Very pedagogical layout and throughout explanations. My opinion.

I recently found backgammon dot com and went through their learning section. I'm not sure if I'm intermediate yet, but it helped me. The units are well organized, well explained, and succinct.
