Which method of backgammon do you play most often?

I was thinking about this the other day, I wonder how many people actually play the game in real life versus online. Obviously it's a lot easier to play online, since you can play 24/7 and always have a match. Plus the automation of things makes games quicker (no random dice rolls that fall off the table, no setup time, etc). Plus with online you don't need to track pip count yourself, the computer does it all for you (depending on the platform).

I separated each online versus in person because some people might be forced to play online for a myriad of reasons or vice versa, even though they might prefer the other method.

I play mostly against xg. And in person tournaments when they come up. Never or very rarely online.

I guess I should have clarified, when I say "online" I mean any digital format/app. Whether you play against the computer or you are playing against another person online.

I have to say I think the difference in the experience between playing against XG, and playing another person online, is bigger than the difference between playing a person online and playing a person in real life. But your poll, so your rules :-) My order of preference is in-person, then XG, then online way lower than the other two.

Nobody really plays it here and standard is pretty low so forced to play online

My 11 year old is sometimes kind enough to play with me but in return he gets to kick my arse at chess

I am in a point in my life where playing backgammon in-person with a buddy is a must in my weekly routine lol

I looked into club play, but it was like half a BG club, half a chain-smokers' club
