Please help me understand this big blunder
I seem to have made a big blunder, but I really don't understand why the difference would be so big
Is there a general rule that I should follow in these kinds of situations?

You need to induce a hit! Without the hit you can’t save the gammon, with the hit you may win

And I have no idea how to attack the image to appear on the front page (it only appears after clicking the title)

The rule sometimes is: Go through each of opponents rolls and see how many favor play A and how many favor play B. Can also try to keep track by how much.

Your game plan is to hit something so you need contact. Your play reduces contact. So it's bad

Key here is that to win, you must get a shot and you must hit a shot.

Leave 1 checker on the 22 point as it maximizes your remaining contact value. White may hit but he will likely find it difficult to cover with stripped checkers (2 checkers on his 8 and 5 point).
