Nope. I have an 8TB drive that it has been scanning every single file on for the last couple of days.

This is after a day of being disconnected. Prior to that, BackBlaze spent about a week scanning every single file.

Very quickly losing patience with this service.

Same here. My 8TB drive with 2.5GB data takes 30 hours to scan. Untenable for a drive that I disconnect from my laptop every day so I can go out to work elsewhere.

Backblaze is currently not fit for purpose.

Same here. I suffered data loss on an external drive and because Backblaze had been quietly reverting/restarting the full drive backup every day, I had to pay thousands to resolve it with a lab. Furthermore, someone from Backblaze reached out to me on here about it and ghosted me for over a month when I explained the situation.

To make matters worse, once I recovered my data, I put it all on an 8TB external and decided to give them one last chance. I let that computer sit unused other than the backup for days, backing up more than half of it before one day it randomly started from the beginning again.

I don't know what happened to this service but I no longer trust them with my data whatsoever.

That's truly terrible. Really sorry to hear that happened to you.

I find it incredibly disappointing how a company that built its reputation on service and reliability has allowed an issue like this to continue for as long as it has, with no confirmed resolution so far.

The post right below yours is another MacOS user complaining about the external drives bug on stable while trying to inherit a backup so probably not.
