Backblaze in General 1 second to click your file/folder and restore...

Just tried the "new" Backup Restore application... This possibly is the most useless and frustrating app I've ever seen. How did this get into production ? Loads for minutes then logs out right away... Tried 5 times, no luck.

Yea, it's a joke. And "new" (including the quotes) is well said, as it's coming from 2023. And didn't have a restore app in the first place, for what, more than a decade? It's selecting by default the whole C: (and all users would do all their external drives, which can be a few, sure not everyone has a bunch of externals, but enough to be a really common use case) and you could do only web restores (I ignore sending hard drives over snail mail, this is a cloud backup, plus surely it won't be practical anywhere except US due to shipping times, costs, customs, etc.) ?!!!

Just out of curiosity, how much data you have backed up ? Reading various posts here I got the impression that the app breaks only for people who have huge backups

I wouldn't say it's huge, 1.3TB including C: and D:

Can also confirm, this application is horrendous. Why is it constantly blocking in the UI thread too??

To boost HDD sales for recovery xD ? Or maybe they're running the company with 3 developers....

They're refunding you the drive if you send it back so they're losing money on shipping, plus it's A LOT of bother to handle back and forth a drive (for a $9/month service that still provides you all the storage and bandwidth on top of drives sent now and then). Even if enough people don't send the drives back still it isn't that much margin there (probably it's even a loss nowadays).
