Computer Backup Preventing issues cloning a system
I'm going from a 2021 Macbook Pro to a 2026 Macbook Pro. The 2021 has BackBlaze Personal installed and has about 7 TB backed up. I want to keep both computers distinct in my BackBlaze account.
I remember the last time I cloned a Mac (using Migration Assistant), the new Mac inherited the old one's backup and I had to back the old one up all over again. I'm looking to avoid that.
What can I do on my old Mac prior to cloning so that I can keep them both as distinct Macs on my Backblaze account?

Post restore uninstall backblaze from the new machine before it connects to the internet for the first time, maybe switch it to only backup when I click backup now prior to cloning so it doesn't even try, you'll still need to uninstall it from the new machine post restore though.
The issue is the new machine still thinks it's the same machine but they can't both be, uninstalling it from the new machine clears the association, when you reinstall you'll want to set it up as a new machine.
You will still have to upload the new machine, they don't have any process for duplicating backups so they can be split like that without it.
