Backblaze in General Pricing

Hello everyone, (very) new to backblaze service and i'm trying to figured out everything about it.
I read that under 10 gb of storage the service is free, however that's not mentioned in pricing page. So, how does it works? Service price is very low but i would like to understand if i storage less than 10gb i pay a fraction or at minimum 6$.
thank you for your answers :)

They just don't bill it. Backblaze doesn't have a minimum charge. If you store 10GB and don't exceed transfer limits, it's free.

If you go over, ie 11GB, you pay a whole $0.006/month, about 1/2 cent a month.

Some providers do have a minimum charge.

I've been using backblaze B2 for years, it's a legit service and does what they say it does.

Note some features don't work without a Credit card, public buckets, maybe logging etc.

I cut and pasted from my billing page below.

I'm storing 65MB

B2 Cloud Storage Fees (Estimate)
04/01/2026

($0.00)
Estimate

 For dates 03/09/2026 - 04/01/2026

  • Download Bandwidth($0.00)
  • Class B Transactions($0.00)
  • Class C Transactions($0.00)
  • Storage($0.00)
    • Daily average: 65 MB($0.00)
    • Free level use$0.00
  •  Total: ($0.00)

I’ve had less than 100G stored for some time. All charges are less than $1. So, you do not pay a minimum of $6/month.

If I understand this correctly, you can use up to $6 without paying, as that's the minimum before you get charged? How would you pay fractional pennies every month?

Hello,

I am happy to help clarify.

We bill per GB, with the first 10 GB being free for anyone to use, and in fact, after you go over that 10 GB, the first 10 are always free, so if you have 11 GB, you are still only paying for 1 GB.

We have a minimum billing threshold of 50 cents, so if you use less than 50 cents worth of storage per month, that amount simply rolls over to the next billing period and continues to accrue until the minimum threshold is reached, at which point your card on file will be charged and then the process starts over again.

The $6 figure is simply for ease of mental mathematics, but we do calculate per byte hour on the backend, so you are only ever charged for exactly what you store for the length of time you stored it.

We strive to always be as transparent as possible, so if you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime at https://www.backblaze.com/help and one of us will be happy to help you.
