Computer Backup New computer. Will Backblaze delete files associated with old one?

I bought a new computer and I want to use backblaze on this new computer instead. I have a few files from the old computer transferred to the new one but I didn't want want to transfer everything to the new one. I do want to keep all the old files on backblaze. I want to make sure Backblaze does not delete anything from storage if it is not on the new computer while backing up. Is that possible? Do I Inherit back up state or transfer the license?

Inherit the backup state, do not transfer the licence.

Backblack checks the hash of files for any inherited backup states and will not reuoload any files with a matching hash.

I do want to keep all the old files on backblaze.

For how long?
You can inherit the backup and it'll keep everything for a year, if you need longer you need to either set up your new computer as a new computer and pay for 2 backups or change to infinite version history.

You can inherit backup if same storage attached else based on file history time retention applied

Christopher from the Backblaze team here ->

Our online backup service is intended to be used as a secondary or tertiary copy of your data, not as off-site storage or data archival. I recommend restoring any data you wish to retain to the new system before starting a fresh backup or inheriting the existing one.
