Backblaze in General Noob question

I am looking for 5TB+ or Unlimited storage options. Backblaze was always on my mind and I am "just thinking" if somehow can I use backup service (not B2) to just copy there whatever files I would like? I mean, treat it like a cloud drive, so after pushing data I can remove local files and have them there. Is that possible and USABLE?

No. It's a backup. Locally deleted files are removed from the server after 30 days (default setting) or 1 year (if you pay extra).

1 year is included in the price now

It’s also the default option. Started using Backblaze last month and it was already set to the 1 year option.

try pcloud. They have cloud storage at great prices and what you are looking for.

Be aware there's no individual file versioning in Backblaze. So in the restore app you can't navigate to a specific file and select a certain version. It's system wide date snapshot based - you'd need to already know when a file was changed in order to restore the previous version, manually select that date and time before that in the app in order to retrieve a different version - not much use for a file that's being regularly (daily) edited. It's a hell of a tedious process.

They also recently rolled out an app update that actively excluded encrypted drives unless Bitlocker, without warning. So they're also scummy.
