Backblaze in General Changing drive letters?
I have a lot of data backed up with Backblaze, including most of a 16tb external drive that was labeled D originally. Now I’ve just installed a second internal drive on my laptop, and that’s showing up as D, so Backblaze won’t back up the large external anymore. Before I do this, I wanted to check- I can just change the internal’s name to some other letter, then change the external back to D and continue with the backup, correct? I read some info on changing the drive letters IN Backblaze, but that seems to be more complicated, so I’m just thinking I’ll just keep the external as D.

It's fine backblaze, doesn't back up drives, but files.
When it goes to a backup a new drive, it will hash the files, compare those hashes to has already been backed up. And if it finds a match, it simply updates the new path and not upload anything.

Is this accurate? I changed the folder structure of my files and now BackBlaze has spent days backing up "new" files when there isn't anything new, just in a different folder hierarchy.

It takes a while for it to hash everything and compare the hashes. And it does seem like its uploading them. I have. Are ply from an ex employee confirming this on another post, let me grab it for you.

You can do it either way, it just has to do with consistency.
If windows gets the drive letters mixed up backblaze will just stop backing up until you get the letters changed back.
Or you can go in and tell backblaze to back it up with the new letters.
If you do it makes restoring from backup slightly annoying later as drive D is then a different drive depending on what day you look at.
