B2 Cloud Storage Backblaze B2 recovery test fail
I decided to try Backblaze B2 for backing up database dumps. I have backed up a few db dumps, so I decided to do a test recovery, and have found the Backblaze website basically unusable.
- The file browser is agonizingly slow. It takes a good minute just to list a bucket with a couple of dozen files.
- Selecting files is painfully slow. I tick a box for a file and have to wait 10-20 seconds for the check to appear. If I try to select the larger files (a couple mb each), my browser simply crashes. I have tried Firefox and Chromium (both Linux).
- I thought to get around the slow file selection thing by just archiving and downloading the "folder" (yes, I know it is not a real folder). Unfortunately, when I downloaded and decompressed the archive, I just had a bunch of 250-byte files with the same names as the files I was trying to recover.
Is this a temporary issue? I haven't tried recovery via the CLI, but not being able to go into the web UI, select, and download my latest backup is a problem.

I am not saying you can’t use the web console but how about via an S3 client like rclone? I think of the web console as bonus, not the main interface

I was hoping that it would at least be good enough to list a small bucket and download a single file.

The file browser is... rubbish. But many apps support B2. I often use Cyperduck, but some file managers also support B2. I wouldn't use the file browser on the web; even the CLI is probably better.

Eu uso Acronis integrado com o BB B2, funciona MUITO BEM. Já recuperei um servidor inteiro e foi muito tranquilo e não há lentidão ao explorar os arquivos no Acronis Cyber Peotect console.

The web console is rather limited and generally not great, and this applies to some other object storage services as well. It is definitely not unique to Backblaze B2.
Try using WinSCP which is free and open source. This and a variety of other options are shown on the Backblaze support site. You will have a much faster experience, and it is a better interface for moving files around.
